The UN General Assembly, in its resolution 78/231, decided to convene a fourth Financing for Development Conference (FfD4) in 2025 to, inter alia, assess the progress made in the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus, the Doha Declaration and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, identifying obstacles and constraints encountered in the achievement of the goals and objectives agreed therein, as well as actions and initiatives to overcome these constraints, and to address new and emerging issues, including in the context of the urgent need to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and to support reform of the international financial architecture.
In accordance with resolution A/RES/78/231, an intergovernmental Preparatory Committee has been established to handle the organizational, procedural, and substantive preparations for the upcoming Financing for Development Conference (FfD4) in 2025.
