The GOARN Full-Scale Interregional Field Simulation Exercise (IFX.01), held from 19 to 22 June 2023, was one of the phases in the WHO Simulation Exercise programme for Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories (RRMLs). As the different phases of the IFX programme build on each other, confirmation of participation in the IFX.01 in Türkiye is a prerequisite for an invitation to the table-top exercise organized on 3 and 4 May 2023 in Berlin, Germany.
The field exercise brought together operational partners, over 181 experts, from all WHO regions to test RRML minimum operational standards as well as the coordination and interoperability with other assets of the WHO Health Emergency Workforce in the field, including Emergency Medical Teams (EMT) supported by the EMT-Initiative Secretariat.
An Interregional Meeting (IRM) was held on 20 June 2023 as part of the IFX.01 to champion a new era of rapid response capacities and discuss the progression of the RRML Network.
