Important information on COVID-19 measures for meetings at the Palais des Nations

-       Public events in Geneva are currently (November 2020) limited to no more than five people (see more information below) not including those servicing the event. The secretariat will provide updated information on in-person participation if/when the host country updates its guidance for December 2020.

-       Please, do not come to the UN premises if you: have tested positive for COVID-19; have flu- or cold-like symptoms (even if you have tested negative for COVID-19); are awaiting COVID-19 test result for yourself or anyone you live with; have been identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 positive person; have children that have been identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 positive person.

-       If you develop symptoms during the meeting, immediately leave the UN premises with your mask on and inform the secretariat.

-       If you develop symptoms and/or tested positive soon after the meeting, inform the secretariat as soon as possible.

-       Masks are mandatory in all interior common areas at the UN premises – including in corridors, elevators, meeting rooms, bathrooms, the cafeteria and other areas – except, briefly, while delegates are directly addressing the room in conferences. If your mask is disposable, please dispose of it carefully.

-       Important hygiene measures, such as regular hand washing, cough/sneeze etiquette and keeping safe distances, must be respected.

-       If prompted on the UN premises, registration for contact tracing is required.

In view of the above, delegations are invited to apply the following guidelines for their participation:

-       All delegates are encouraged to participate in this meeting remotely.

-       If any Party wishes to send a delegate to participate in the meeting in person, please contact the secretariat as soon as possible for more information. In-person participation is not guaranteed and cannot be confirmed until closer to the meeting due to the COVID-19 restrictions of the host country and UNOG.

-       In the case a delegate attends the meeting in person, s/he will be responsible for following all travel restrictions from the departing country, transit countries and Switzerland (see more information below).

-       Delegations of Parties are required to nominate one Head of Delegation, clearly indicated in the Indico registration form.

-       Observers are invited to participate in the meeting remotely.

-       Delegations are requested to coordinate their presence, statements and submissions (note that delegates from individual delegations may be participating in the meeting from multiple locations).
