The UNOV Conference Management Service (CMS), the UNODC/Information Technology Service (ITS), the UN Safety and Security Service (UNSSS) and the Indico Team are working together on an a new system to register meetings participants at the VIC. In line with the implementation of Umoja’s User Extension 2 which includes Conference and Event Management (CEM), Indico is the application that will be used for Meetings and Meetings Participants Management.
Indico has been used by United Nations Office in Geneva since March 2016. Since then it has processed 218,336 registrations from different UN organisations and specialised bodies such as UNOG, UNFCCC, UNCCD, UNCTAD, WHO, ESCWA, and UNON. It is also currently used in some of its features at the IAEA.
To have a better understanding of Indico, CMS is organising a workshop on 19-21 June 2019 at the VIC with the Indico experts from UNOG. It aims provide on-site Indico training to the different service providers in the United Nations Office at Vienna such as Conference Services, ITS, Safety and Security and to formally introduce Indico to the Vienna Based Organizations (IAEA, UNIDO, UNODC, CTBTO) and other UN departments in the Vienna International Center.
