Western Asia Platform on Sand and Dust Storms

This first meeting of the Western Asia Platform on Sand and Dust Storms is convened within the framework of the Interregional Initaitive to Combat Sand and Dust Storms in Western Asia, which was launched in July 2026. 

The Initative aims to enhance resilience and reduce the risks posed by sand and dust storms. The Platform serves as the institutional arm of the Initiative and is comprised of designated representatives from the Partner Countries.

Subject-matter experts can participate on an invitation basis provided by the secretariat comprised of ESCAP and ESCWA.
