Strengthening National Capacity on Ageing in Africa for the Madrid Plan of Action fifth review and to advance implementation of the Doha Declaration

The workshop will:

· Increase understanding of population ageing trends in Africa and their implications for social and economic development and for the situation of older persons.

·        Strengthen familiarity with the Political Declaration and Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, the Doha Political Declaration and the fifth review and appraisal process.

·        Enhance national capacity to participate effectively in the fifth review and appraisal of the implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing.
