Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are among the countries most exposed to climate related shocks. As strong El Niño conditions will peak towards the end of 2026, many SIDS face heightened risks of droughts, floods and cyclones which, in turn, would cause disruptions to livelihoods and agrifood systems. These challenges underscore the urgent need to strengthen preparedness and act before shocks materialize or escalate.
