The Swiss Confederation, in collaboration with UNESCO, is organizing a dialogue on the “New forms of agreements and cooperation in the field of the return and restitution of cultural property”, from 16 September 2026 at 1:00 p.m. to 17 September at 2:00 p.m. at the Geneva International Conference Centre - CICG, Geneva (Switzerland).
This initiative will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, from government representatives to experts, museum professionals and representatives of Indigenous Peoples, to showcase and promote recent and innovative examples of cooperation and partnerships in this domain. It will also serve as a platform to discuss the needs and challenges faced by Member States and Indigenous Peoples in pursuing the return and restitution of cultural property. The event will also provide an opportunity to strengthen professional networks and explore new avenues for sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation.
