The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is developing its Medium-Term Strategy (MTS) for 2026-2029 at a crucial moment, as the 2030 deadline for the Sustainable Development Goals approaches. This strategy therefore offers a key opportunity to intensify efforts towards sustainable development and environmental protection.
In this regard, UNEP is pleased to extend an invitation to the Children and Youth Major Group to participate in an online dialogue for collective reflection on UNEP's aspirations and the formulation of its next Medium-Term Strategy.
The insights gathered from the dialogue will inform the drafting of the full Strategy, which will subsequently undergo review and consideration through established the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) processes. Ultimately, the Strategy will be presented for adoption at the UN Environment Assembly in December 2025.
