This hybrid table-top exercise (TTX) is the first phase of the RRML/GOARN Interregional Field Simulation Exercise (IFX). The overarching aim of the IFX is to bring together operational partners of WHO from all regions to strengthen coordination and interoperability during emergencies, and to test RRML Minimum Operational Standards and a related M&E System.
As the introductory module of the IFX, the TTX will focus specifically on pre-deployment and logistical considerations and activities during the initial stages of the RRML life cycle: mission assignment and mission specification.
The purpose of this 1.5-day event is to introduce participants to the overall exercise scenario and prepare them for subsequent phases of the IFX, as well as walk them through the procedures of the GOARN deployment mechanism to train and to test RRML Minimum Standards.
