Secretariat to the Ad Hoc Committee

The registration deadline passed on Thursday, 6 April 2023. Registrations received by the deadline will be prioritized, the processing time of late registrations maybe longer. Delegations may contact the secretariat of the Ad Hoc Committee at cybercrimeahc@un.org.

Registration period

The registration process will be open from 13 March until 6 April 2023 6 p.m., New York time.

Format

Delegations may choose to participate in the formal meetings in person, through an online platform with simultaneous interpretation, or by both means.  

Important information for Member States

An official note verbale issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an accredited Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York or Vienna containing the Government’s official delegation to the meeting (including names, titles, email addresses and participation modality of the entire delegation) is required to register through Indico. Each delegate is required to attach a copy of the note verbale to her/his registration request in Indico.

Important information for Organizations

An official letter, with letterhead and signed by the Head of the organization, with the details of the participants that shall attend the meeting (name, title/function, workplace, individual email address and participation modality) is required to register through Indico. Each delegate is required to attach a copy of the official letter to her/his registration request in Indico. 

In-person participation

The in-person meeting will be held in Board Room C, on the fourth floor of the C-Building, Vienna International Centre (VIC)which has the capacity to accommodate two delegates for Member States, Holy See, Palestine and the European Union. In order to address the space limitation, an overflow room will be made available in Board Room D, on the same floor of the VIC.

The limited number of seats in Board Room C does not allow stakeholders to attend the meeting in the room. Therefore, stakeholders will be able to observe the meeting in the six official languages of the United Nations in Board Room D, on the fourth floor of the C-Building, VIC. There will be seats reserved with general “Stakeholder” nameplates in Board Room C for when the stakeholders take the floor. 

Online participation

Delegations are invited to indicate which delegates are nominated as online speakers to receive a speaker linkDelegates without an online speaker role are requested to follow the session through the webcast, which will be available in the six official languages of the United Nations, to ensure the optimal functioning of the Interprefy platform.

Collection of badges

Grounds passes will be issued to registered participants at the Pass Office at Gate 1 of the VIC from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. each day. Participants attending in person will be required to present their passports or another official photograph-bearing identity document, in order to receive their grounds passes.

Confirmed delegates will receive an email with a direct link to upload their photos. Grounds passes for delegates who upload their photo by Tuesday, 4 April will be pre-printed and can be collected from the Registration Counter at Gate 1 of the VIC from 1 p.m. till 3 p.m. on Thursday, 6 April and from 8.00 a.m. till 12 noon on Tuesday, 11 April. Staff from Permanent Missions collecting grounds passes for their delegates must present an official letter at the Registration Counter for that purpose. The letter must be signed by the Head of Mission.

Staff of Permanent Missions to the United Nations in Vienna will be able to access the building and the meeting rooms with their valid VIC grounds passes.
