This platform is used to register as your organization's media focal point. The purpose is to establish a single point of contact who is designated to assign media personnel moving forward.
Please do not submit your application until all assigned staff have submitted their applications on our ORS platform. Keep in mind that they will not have to submit any verification documents.
In addition to the personal details, this application must include a letter of assignment and a list of assigned media personnel.
The letter of assignment must:

Be on the organization’s official letterhead;

Be addressed to the UN Climate Change Press Office;
- Be from the media focal point's supervisor (if not most senior role at organization)

Include the focal point’s full name and position;

Confirm that the focal point is authorized by the organization to assign staff for the meeting;
- Specify the meeting and dates to be covered;

Be signed by the focal point’s supervisor;

Include the supervisor’s contact information;

Include links to the organization’s website;

State the type of coverage planned, such as news reporting, photo, video or documentary coverage.
The list of assigned media personnel must include:

Full names as shown on ID;

Email addresses used for ORS applications;

Roles, such as journalist, cameraperson or audio technician.
If approved, the media focal point will receive a confirmation email. Matching ORS applications from assigned personnel will then be processed.
Changes to the list of assigned personnel should be sent to press@unfccc.int.
Decisions, Appeals, and Revocation
- Accreditation decisions are at the discretion of UNFCCC, applying this policy consistently and without discrimination.
- If accreditation is denied, the applicant (or editor) may request a brief written explanation and may submit one appeal with additional supporting information.
- Accreditation may be revoked if:
- False information or fraudulent documents are discovered.
- UN staff is unable to verify the existence of the outlet/editor.
- Editors may submit up to two amended assigned personnel lists to the Press office.
