Description

The good, the bad and the ugly: the quality of sound in remote multilingual meetings

Everything you as a remote speaker need to know about the obstacles that prevent your message from getting across and what you can do about them

Tuesday 21 June from 4 to 5 p.m. - Library Events Room (B.135, 1st floor, B Building, Palais des Nations)

One year after the April 2021 presentation on best practices for remote participation in multilingual meetings the UNOG Interpretation Service invites you to join them for a new session in which you will learn about:

• Why is the sound in remote meetings is poor?

• Why is there a difference between sound quality in in-person meetings and in remote meetings?

• What are the consequences of poor sound?

• Simple steps for better sound: How you can benefit from the new and improved guidelines for remote participants in multilingual meetings

As the main topic of this session is about sound and interpretation, we would like to propose an exercise ahead of the event called "shadowing". The aim is to try to repeat aloud what the speaker says. Here is the link to watch the video: https://bit.ly/3LB2QX2.
We would ask you to give your feedback during the event. Thank you!
