Online Regional consultations of National Mechanisms for Implementation, Reporting and Follow-up (NMIRFs)- The Americas and Caribbean- REGISTRATION FOR STATES AND UN ENTITIES ONLY

Engagement capacity: ability to engage and liaise with international human rights bodies, to organize and centrally facilitate the preparation of reports to international human rights mechanisms, and of responses to communications, follow-up questions and recommendations or decisions received from such mechanisms

Possible guiding questions:

1. To what extent has the reporting to international human rights mechanisms improved since the establishment of the NMIRF? Please provide concrete examples of positive outcomes resulting from the establishment or strengthening of the NMIRF.
2. How have you ensured the timely submission of reports while ensuring their quality?
3. What are the remaining challenges in keeping up to date with reporting?
4. What can treaty bodies do to help States in enhancing the quality of their reports and making stronger links with the 2030 agenda?
5. How has the communication channel between the Permanent Missions of your country and the National Mechanism of Implementation, Reporting and Follow-up-NMIRF worked in relation to requests and commitments to the different Human Rights Mechanisms?
6. What has been your experience as NMIRF with the visit of a Special Rapporteur? What lessons have you learned in terms of engagement and follow-up to visits?
7. What experience have you had as a delegation sent to Geneva for interactive dialogue with a commission, etc.?
