The 54th session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD 54) will take place virtually from 19 to 23 April 2021 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Special Theme: Population, food security, nutrition and sustainable development.
Registration for CPD54 in Indico is valid only for representatives of NGOs in consultative Status with ECOSOC.
Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no expectation of travel to UNHQ in New York. The general debate and panels of the session will take place virtually. All side events will likewise take place fully virtually.
Once you have registered for the virtual CPD54, your organization needs to approve your registration in order for it to be valid.
Due to the unique circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the implications it has on CPD54, meetings will take place virtually and no CPD54 grounds passes will be issued. Therefore, the limit of 5 approved representatives per ECOSOC-accredited organization is not relevant and will not be in effect for CPD54. Please note that the removal of the approval limit is entirely unique and specific to the virtual CPD54 due to the impacts of COVID-19, and would not, in any way, create a precedent.
