In accordance with the General Assembly resolution 75/4, a Special Session of the General Assembly in response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic will be held from 3 - 4 December, 2020.

In order to participate in the Special Session of the GA in response to the COVID-19, the following categories of relevant entities not in consultative status with ECOSOC must express interest here and must apply for special accreditation.
- Non-governmental organizations 
- Civil society organizations 
- Academic institutions
- Private sector organizations
The Application for Special-accreditation is now open until 18 November 2020, Noon EST. 

Stakeholder applications will be reviewed by Member States, in accordance with the relevant GA Resolution.  Accredited entities will be informed and receive further instruction to finalize their registration, as representatives will need to register individually to secure their participation in the event

Stakeholder participation is expected to be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Civil society may have the opportunity to deliver a consolidated statement on the subject matter.  Should this opportunity be realised,  a coordinating entity will be announced, and contact information for providing inputs will be shared with accredited entities after 30 November.
