On 27 September 2019, the General Assembly will hold a One-day High-level Review of the progress made in addressing the priorities of small island developing States (SIDS) through the implementation of the SAMOA Pathway. The General Assembly has decided that the high-level review will result in a concise action oriented and inter-governmentally agreed political declaration.
Relevant major groups organizations that have been accredited to participate in the listed conferences below must register for the event:
- 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development
- Rio +20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development
- The previous United Nations conferences on the sustainable development of small island developing States, held in Barbados in 1994, in Mauritius in 2005, and in Samoa in 2014
- 2017 High-level United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conservation and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
- Organizations that have been especially accredited by the General Assembly in its decision 73/556 0f 10 July 2019 (see: A/73/L.98). See also here.
