Technical workshop: Accelerating action to implement the WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm

WHO Patient Safety and Risk Management Unit, WHO headquarters, Geneva is planning organize a technical workshop to accelerate the implementation of the Challenge in priority countries in consultation with regional advisers. The two-day workshop aims to: introduce the national focal points for patient safety and medication safety on key interventions, and new WHO technical and patient engagement tools developed to accelerate the implementation of Medication Without Harm Challenge; provide support for initiating their implementation and evaluation of their field-application in selected countries; provide a platform for sharing best practices, discussing strategies and modalities for implementation of the Challenge; and strengthen action for integration of patient safety and medication safety in national health policy and practice. This will offer a foundation for a sustained and coordinated implementation for improving medication safety, and provide a stimulus for countries to tackle the issues of medication errors and medication-related harm.
