The 80th session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) will take place from 18 October to 12 November 2021 at Palais des Nations, in Conference Room XXIII.

► During the first week of the session, the CEDAW Committee will consider

  • The sixth periodic report of Maldives (Wednesday, 20 October, from 10:00 to 13:00, and Thursday, 21 October, from 10:00 to 12:00),
  • The combined seventh to tenth periodic reports of Nicaragua ( Wednesday, 20 October, from 15:00 to 18:00, and Thursday, 21 October, from 15:00 to 17:00) (to be confirmed),
  • The tenth periodic report of Sweden (Friday, 22 October, from 10:00 to 13:00, and from 15:00 to 17:00).

► During the second week of the session, the CEDAW Committee will consider

  • The combined eighth and ninth periodic reports of Egypt (Tuesday, 26 October, from 10:00 to 13:00, and from 15:00 to 17:00),
  • The combined seventh and eighth periodic reports of Yemen (Wednesday, 27 October, from 10:00 to 13:00, and from 15:00 to 17:00),
  • The eighth periodic report of Indonesia (Thursday, 28 October, from 10:00 to 13:00 and Friday, 29 October, from 10:00 to 12:00),
  • The tenth periodic report of Ecuador (Thursday, 28 October, from 15:00 to 18:00 and Friday, 29 October, from 15:00 to 17:00).

► During the third week of the session, the CEDAW Committee will consider

  • The fifth periodic report of Kyrgyzstan (Tuesday, 2 November, from 10:00 to 13:00, and Wednesday, 3 November,  from 10:00 to 12:00),
  •  The ninth periodic report of the Russian Federation (Tuesday, 2 November, from 15:00 to 18:00,  and Wednesday, 3 November,  from 15:00 to 17:00),
  • The initial report of the South Sudan (Thursday, 4 November, from 10:00 to 1300,  and from 15:00 to 17:00),
  • The fifth periodic report of South Africa (Friday, 5 November, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00).

Please note that Conference Room XXIII is not open to the public, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions that remain in place. However, remote participation by CEDAW experts, State delegations, UN entities, NHRIs and NGOs via Zoom is possible in relevant meetings during the 80th session and all public meetings of the Committee will be webcast live on the following website: https://webtv.un.org/meetings-events
