ESCWA is organizing the event "Advancing Digital Inclusion in the Arab Region: Towards an Equitable Future in the Age of AI," during 15-16 December 2026, at the UN-House in Beirut and virtually through Zoom.
The event will examine digital inclusion from policy foundations and meaningful use and access to accessibility, skills, labour-market opportunities, inclusive solutions and community participation, while considering the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) across these dimensions.
The event will also introduce the ESCWA National Digital Inclusion Policy Template for the Arab Region and showcase selected national experiences in the development and implementation of digital inclusion and digital accessibility policies. Attention will be given to ensuring that the rapid adoption of AI does not create new forms of exclusion, while also exploring how AI can enhance accessibility, improve services and expand socioeconomic opportunities. Discussions will further highlight policies, practices and innovative approaches that leverage AI to support an inclusive and equitable digital transformation and ensure that no one is left behind.

تنظّم الإسكوا الحدث "تعزيز الشمول الرقمي في المنطقة العربية: من أجل مستقبل عادل في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي،" خلال يومي 15 و 16 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2026، حضورياً في بيروت، لبنان، وافتراضيّاً عبر منصة زووم.

كما سيشهد الحدث عرض "نموذج الإسكوا لتطوير السياسة الوطنية للشمول الرقمي في المنطقة العربية" واستعراض تجارب وطنية مختارة في تطوير وتنفيذ سياسات الشمول الرقمي والنفاذية الرقمية. وسيتم إيلاء الاهتمام لضمان ألا يؤدي التبني السريع للذكاء الاصطناعي إلى خلق أشكال جديدة من الإقصاء، مع استكشاف كيف يمكن للذكاء الاصطناعي تعزيز النفاذية الرقمية، وتحسين الخدمات، وتوسيع الفرص الاجتماعية والاقتصادية. كما ستسلط المناقشات الضوء على السياسات والممارسات والنهج المبتكرة التي تستفيد من الذكاء الاصطناعي لدعم تحول رقمي شامل وعادل، بما يضمن ألا يتخلف أحد خلف الركب.
