High-level Meeting to Commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action

Welcome to the registration portal for Representatives from NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC to the one-day high-level meeting to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. The High-Level meeting is to be convened by the President of the General Assembly and shall be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 28 September 2026 during the general debate of the Assembly at its eighty-first session, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.;
The overall theme of the high-level meeting will be “Mobilizing global public support for the full and effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.”
As guided by resolution A/RES/80/193 and A/RES/80/299 other relevant non-governmental organizations, including civil society organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector, whose work is relevant to the High-Level Meeting, are also invited to participate.

Each Organization will be able to register up to two (2) representatives. If more than two are registered under one organization, the Secretariat will approve registrations on a first-come first-serve basis, with reference to the letter of representation provided by the Organization.

Participants must register individually via the relevant INDICO form. Bulk registrations are not permitted by the system.

Please attach a letter of nomination from the President or Chief Executive Officer of your organization, endorsing your participation in this meeting.

Submitting a registration does not guarantee your in-person participation. You will receive an approval letter confirming your in-person participation if your registration is approved.

Special Event Tickets (SETs) for High-Level Meetings: For all UNGA high-level meetings and events, civil society and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) must be registered and approved through dedicated, online registration processes for each event. At the conclusion of the registration processes, participants will be notified of the approval of their registration, and will also be informed of the date, time and venue for the collection of the required Special Event Tickets (SETs). To collect the SETs, approved participants will be required to present the Letter of Approval that was sent to them by the United Nations, as well as a Member State-issued photo ID, such as a passport or a driver’s license, etc.
The SETs will indicate the name of the participant, the specific meeting, date and time of the event and thus, they are not transferable. Participants will be required to carry the SETs with them at all times while on UN premises.
The issuance of Special Event Tickets is the responsibility of the United Nations sponsoring office.
The access point to the UN Headquarters complex will be on Second Avenue and 46th Street, leading to the 47th Street and First Avenue entrance, where attendees will enter one hour prior to the start of a meeting or special event. Following mandatory security screening, they will proceed to the meeting or event location.
The United Nations Webcast services will provide live streaming coverage of the high-level segment in all available UN official languages, through the UN Web TV website at: http://webtv.un.org. In addition, Closed Captions and Transcripts could be available on all recorded videos of the high-level segment.
