The Beyonds Festival is the culminating convening of the Beyonds Challenge and a flagship initiative of the Beyond Lab at UN Geneva.
The initiative received hundreds of submissions from over 90 countries, including contributions from artists, students, researchers, policymakers, filmmakers, designers, social entrepreneurs, and cultural practitioners. The submissions reflected remarkable diversity in both perspective and format, ranging from policy proposals and scientific essays to films, documentaries, audio storytelling, visual arts, speculative design and interdisciplinary creative works.
Building on the Beyond Lab's “What's Next” Series, the Festival aims to translate ideas emerging from the Beyonds Challenge into interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative action on development beyond 2030. Throughout the three-day programme, the selected Challenge winners and contributors will engage with representatives from governments, international organizations, academia, philanthropy, civil society, the private sector, and cultural institutions through public discussions, workshops, screenings, exhibitions, and institutional exchange sessions.
The Festival aims to encourage new forms of dialogue across generations, sectors and disciplines on long-term sustainable development, social cohesion, cultural imagination and forward-looking governance.
