The Fifth Ministerial Conference on Transport will be convened in Bangkok from 17 to 20 November 2026 pursuant to ESCAP Resolution 78/3. The Conference will provide a regional platform for members, associate members and stakeholders to discuss strategies for scaling up sustainable transport initiatives in Asia and the Pacific and strengthening regional cooperation.
The Conference will:
- assess the implementation of the Regional Action Programme for Sustainable Transport Development in Asia and the Pacific (2022–2026); and
- consider and adopt the Ministerial Declaration on Sustainable Transport Development in Asia and the Pacific, including a new regional action programme for 2027–2031 aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport.
The Conference will comprise:
- a Senior Officials Segment on 17–18 November 2026; and
- a Ministerial Segment on 19–20 November 2026.
The working languages of the Conference will be Chinese, English, French and Russian.
