The Permanent Delegation of South Africa to UNESCO, in collaboration with the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report, is pleased to invite you to a documentary film screening, panel discussion, and reception to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Soweto uprisings. 
 
The event will feature a screening of the TIME documentary Soweto Uprising: The Story Behind Sam Nzima's Photograph, followed by a panel discussion with Dr Philemon Mjwara, Permanent Delegate of South Africa to UNESCO, Manos Antoninis, the GEM Report Director, a South African youth activist, Zaheer Suliman, and journalist John Battersby. The event will be moderated by Frances Williams, CBE.
 

The event will conclude with a light reception. 

The screening and discussion will be held in English only.
