The FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka and the United Nations Office at Geneva, invite you to celebrate International Tea Day 2026, hosted at the Palais des Nations, H Building.
The International Tea Day falls on 21 May annually. Under the theme “Sustaining Tea, Supporting Communities”, this observance day will reflect on the importance of tea – the world’s second most consumed drink after water. Tea represents a way of life in many cultures and plays a vital role in employment, income generation, export earnings, and food security, particularly in developing countries and rural areas, contributing to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Developments Goals.
Join us for an afternoon of high-level dialogue, cultural exchange, and interactive tea-tasting to explore how tea contributes to sustainable development and resilient rural communities.
We look forward to celebrating with you. The agenda for the event will be shared shortly.
