Scientific Programme

The Government of Sweden’s international development cooperation strategy for Asia and the Pacific for the period 2022–2026 will conclude on 30 June 2026. As we approach this milestone, it is time to reflect on what has worked well, as well as consider what we may need to do differently in the future. It is also an opportunity to share preliminary insights on what Sweden’s regional hub may look like beyond the phase‑out.

It is our pleasure to confirm 18–19 May 2026 as the meeting dates. We are also pleased to inform you that UNESCAP will be co‑hosting the meeting together with the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Bangkok and learning from your experiences in supporting sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific.

Meeting Objectives:
1. To acknowledge key achievements, and to present the results, insights, and lessons learned from the phase‑out
2. To explore opportunities for continued collaboration and identify potential areas of engagement beyond the phase‑out period
3. To strengthen relationships, networks, and strategic partnerships among stakeholders
