Hands-on training and practical laboratory exercises for the identification of drugs and metabolites in biological samples.
Participants will analyse real samples using GC-MS and LC-MSMS after different types of extractions, and follow the normal workflow of a sample in a forensic laboratory: from sample reception, chain of custody, sampling and instrumental analysis to the interpretation of results and issuance of certificates of analysis.
The course covers the essential laboratory skills required for sample preparation, data analysis and interpretation. Theoretical fundamentals on analytical toxicology, screening and confirmatory techniques, introduction to chromatography, instrument maintenance, standard preparation, and quality management principles are also included.
