The primary objective of the meeting is to engage government officials responsible for tax policy and administration in a dialogue and provide evidence that it makes sense to stay the course and deepen health taxes reform in the country. The specific objectives of the meeting are to engage with government officials from the Philippines to:
1. Review the current taxation policies for tobacco, alcohol, and SSBs, including potential reforms and address implementation challenges;
2. Address enforcement and administrative challenges related to tobacco taxation in light of global evidence; and
3. Identify possible solutions and technical assistance to strengthen tobacco tax administration and advance the implementation of health taxes.
