Adoption of electronic Bills of Lading (eBL) has gained momentum in recent years, driven by political commitments and industry-led initiatives. Notably, the 2024 APEC Leaders’ Machu Picchu Declaration and growing support from the private sector reflect a strong push toward digitalizing trade processes. However, despite these efforts, eBL adoption remains limited—currently accounting for approximately 2% of Bills of Lading issued annually.

This workshop aims to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with eBL adoption in Thailand and support Thailand’s progress in digital trade agenda. It will convene key stakeholders from both Thailand and abroad to foster dialogue, share insights, and identify priority areas for further action.

The workshop is jointly organized by ESCAP and Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), Thailand.
