Co-organized by: OECD, UNESCO, International Chamber of Commerce, Council of Europe Development Bank, Organisation internationale de la Francophonie
Languages: English and French
Date & time: Monday, 30 June 2025, 12:30 pm-2:00 pm
Location: FIBES Sevilla Exhibition and Conference Centre, Side Event Room 12
Background:
The Paris Dialogue was launched in June 2023 as a coalition of Paris-based international organizations whose mandates collectively span the breadth of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Drawing on their respective expertise in areas such as development finance, science, economic analysis, multilateral policy, culture, energy, education, private sector engagement and statistics, the Dialogue serves as an innovative multi-actor platform to promote coordinated, cross-sector action for sustainable development.
Coinciding with the anniversaries of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) offers a critical opportunity to renew global commitments to multilateralism and shared objectives. In response, the Paris Dialogue aims to support the implementation and follow-up of the FfD4 outcome and serve as an engine for innovation, accountability and impact across the Sevilla Action Areas. As part of this ambition, the Dialogue also proposes to host a follow-up conference to take the momentum on climate and development finance forward from FfD4 and COP30 to Paris G7 in France (2026). It would offer a trusted and multi-institutional space to maintain political momentum, track progress, and co-develop solutions to global financing challenges.
Event objectives
This session will explore how coalitions like the Paris Dialogue can contribute to the effective implementation and sustained follow-up of the Sevilla outcome, while mainstreaming innovation across all seven Addis Ababa Action Areas. It will bring together diverse actors to identify challenges and propose pathways for joint, transformative action, with a focus on:
- Strengthening cross-sector coordination – this session will present identified synergies between public and private actors, including new institutional and financial partnerships to support SDG delivery.
- Mainstreaming science, technology and innovation – this session will present initiatives aimed at leveraging data, technology, and knowledge across the Addis and Sevilla areas of action (e.g. in tax, blended finance, debt management, trade, to accelerate progress and systemic transformation towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
- Ensuring inclusive and sustainable impact – this session will present concrete examples of aligning financing with social and environmental goals, especially in the areas of health, education, culture, and local empowerment.
- Building momentum toward the French Presidency of G7 – by positioning the Paris Dialogue as a permanent multi-actor platform to accompany FfD4 implementation and convene international cooperation ahead of the 2026 G7 Summit, and the next global conference on financing for development as well as other international fora.
