Le 23 mai 2025, à l'occasion du 50ème anniversaire de l'Office central de lutte contre le trafic illicite des biens culturels (OCBC), l’OCBC, en partenariat avec l'UNESCO, organise un colloque pour mettre en lumière la nécessité de la coopération dans la lutte contre ce fléau.
L’OCBC a été créé dans la lignée des recommandations de la Convention de l’UNESCO de 1970 concernant les mesures à prendre pour interdire et empêcher l'importation, l'exportation et le transfert de propriété illicites des biens culturels, qui encourage la mise en place d’unités spécialisées au sein des forces de police nationales pour lutter contre le vol, les fouilles clandestines et le commerce illégal des biens culturels. La France possède un cadre juridique solide et est proactivement engagé dans la lutte contre le trafic illicite de biens culturels, ainsi que dans les efforts pour renforcer la coopération internationale.
Cet événement réunira des experts internationaux, des professionnels dans le domaine, ainsi que des organisations partenaires autour du thème « Unis face au trafic des biens culturels : la coopération au cœur de la lutte ». Tout en célébrant le travail accompli au cours des 50 dernières années par l'OCBC, ce colloque sera également l'occasion de :
- Enrichir le dialogue international et offrir de nouvelles perspectives pour renforcer la coopération entre les pays dans cette lutte commune
- Sensibiliser le public à l'ampleur et aux conséquences du trafic illicite de biens culturels.

On 23 May 2025, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Central Office against Illicit Traffic of Cultural Property (OCBC), the OCBC, in partnership with UNESCO, is organizing a symposium to highlight the need for cooperation in the fight against this scourge.
The OCBC was set up in line with the recommendations of the UNESCO 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property, which encourages the establishment of specialized units within national police forces to combat theft, clandestine excavations and the illegal trade in cultural property. France has a solid legal framework and is proactively engaged in the fight against the illicit trafficking of cultural property, as well as in efforts to strengthen international cooperation.
This event will bring together international experts, professionals in the field and partner organizations around the theme ‘United against trafficking of cultural property: cooperation at the heart of the fight’. As well as celebrating the work of the OCBC over the past 50 years, the colloquium will provide an opportunity to:
- Enrich international dialogue and offer new perspectives for strengthening cooperation between countries;
- Raise awareness of the scale and consequences of illicit trafficking of cultural property.
