The United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) has, since 2007, held two-week intensive training courses in security analysis process and practice. Since the course’s inception, over 1000 analysts from across the United Nations system have been trained, including participants from UNDSS, peace operations, special political missions and Agencies, Funds and Programmes.
The course is intended to equip personnel with the basic skills required to set up and manage a Security Threat Information Management Cell, and to function effectively through all steps of the Security Threat Information Cycle. for 2 3. The SAPP programme is the UNDSS certification programme for security analysts.
