The five days’ workshop aims at examining methods for implementing effective organizational PSEA mechanisms that can be applied by UN Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other partnering entities when delivering safe programmes in line with the UN Implementing Partner Protocol (UN IP Protocol). It supports the sharing and documentation of good practices and informs the IPPWG of the needs to better steer interagency efforts when developing tools and resources to support the development of organizational PSEA mechanisms.
TRAINING PARTICIPANTS:
Participation to the Global Training Workshop is planned in groups:
Group I will include IASC PSEA Coordinators from selected countries. Prioritization was given to countries identified by the IASC Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Risk Overview (SEARO) with high number of operational partnerships.
The selected participants must commit to the replication of the training and dissemination of knowledge acquired during the workshop within their PSEA networks. Group I will be attending all five-days of the training workshop. Relevant training materials will be shared with them after the workshop.
During days four and five of the planned workshop, IASC PSEA coordinators will be joined by Group II, which is composed of representatives from selected NGOs/CSOs operating in the represented countries.
The selection of NGOs/CSOs participants will ensure, to the extent possible, representation of diverse groups such as women-led organizations, organizations working for persons with disabilities, youth-led or indigenous organizations, etc. and will be based on the willingness of these NGOs/CSOs to actively engage in a dialogue with WFP, the IPPWG members and the IASC on the best approaches to develop organizational PSEA capacities.
Relevant discussion outputs will be shared with the groups after the workshop.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the multi-stakeholder training workshop, participants will be able to:
Recognize the power inequalities and SEA risks in partnership cooperations including in, but not limited to, the food security sector.
Identify and map the enabling factors for successful organizational capacity strengthening on PSEA of partners, in line with the UN IP Protocol and relevant good practices.
Deliberate on experiences and practices in engaging diverse partners on PSEA (i.e. semi-governmental entities, community leaders, sub-contractors).
Discuss with key stakeholders including participating NGOs and CSOs, PSEA capacity strengthening initiatives, challenges, and good practices.
Familiarize with interagency learning resources including the “IASC PSEA e-learning course for NGOs and CSOs on the UN IP Protocol”.
