This course will bridge the gap between police leadership and operations. It will facilitate the creation of a common standardized approach to key policing functions that are under the responsibility of the target audience, while promoting sustainability and continuity by preparing the target audience for future responsibilities in the UN field missions.

Target audience

The course is aimed at Individual police officers (IPOs) and contacted police officers (on professional posts) with personnel supervisory functions within United Nations Peace Operations and Special Political Missions. These may include Heads of units, sector commanders, and other UNPOL personnel occupying middle management positions (See attached for comprehensive list of targeted profiles).

Course goal

To strengthen the capacity of UNPOL middle management to apply a standardized, SGF-based approach that enhances mandate implementation.
