The specific objectives of the meeting are:
- to review and provide feedback on initial results from the mapping of country maternal, newborn, and child (MNCH) facility data collection, recording and reporting tools and on home-based records and the literature review on optimal format and definition of these tools;
- to share experiences from technical programmes and experts with experience in the development or implementation of standardized health facility tools for data capture and on home-based records;
- to gather inputs from experts and users on potential linkages between facility data capture tools and home-based records;
- to define what the MNCH standardized health facility registers should look like and discuss a potential methodology, technical requirements, and collaborations needed to develop them, including the prototypes; and
- to discuss and agree on a workplan for the next phase of implementation.
