The eighth session of the Committee on Transport will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 5 to 7 November 2024. The Committee session will be held in-person only, with the participation of ESCAP member States and associate member States, international governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as other transport stakeholders and partners.
The Committee will review the implementation of the Regional Action Programme for Sustainable Transport Development in Asia and the Pacific (2022–2026) and discuss matters of strategic importance to regional transport cooperation and the formulation of national and regional policies to advance sustainable transport development in the region, in line with existing regional and global mandates. The Committee will also provide participants with a platform to exchange views and discuss policies to advance economic, environmental and social sustainability of the transport sector in Asia and the Pacific.
The working languages of the Committee will be the four official languages of the Commission, namely, Chinese, English, French and Russian.
