The President of the 78th session of the General Assembly, H. E. Dennis Francis, has appointed Co-facilitators and Advisers to conduct consultations on possible further measures necessary to enhance the participation of Indigenous Peoples’ representatives and institutions in relevant United Nations meetings on issues affecting them, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 78/189.
Registration is now open for an in-person joint consultation with Member States and Indigenous Peoples on these measures.

Member States, the UN and other intergovernmental organizations, Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations, and academia accredited to the Permanent Forum, as well as NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC, can participate in the Joint Consultation with Member States and Indigenous Peoples. This consultation will focus on possible measures to enhance the participation of Indigenous Peoples’ representatives and institutions in relevant United Nations meetings on issues affecting them.
