Event on UNESCO's Programme on the promotion of scientific freedom and the safety of scientists

UNESCO and the Kingdom of the Netherlands warmly invite you to join the event on its new Programme on the promotion of scientific freedom and the safety of scientists on 19 March 2024 (13.30-14.30 CET) in Room IV of its Headquarters in Paris.
The event will be opened by Ms Monique van Daalen, Ambassador/Permanent Delegate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Ms Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, accompanied by brief messages from Ministers supporting this initiative. A group of Ambassadors/Permanent Delegates will then present a Call to Action on the Freedom and Safety of Scientists and will highlight the key concerns, needs and priorities of their respective countries. The event will also feature key findings of the upcoming publication, entitled The Safety of Scientific Researchers: Data, trends and a typology of threats.
There will be simultaneous interpretation in English and French. The event can also be followed online.

L'UNESCO et le Royaume des Pays-Bas vous invitent chaleureusement à participer à l'événement dédié à son nouveau Programme sur la promotion de la liberté scientifique et la sécurité des scientifiques le 19 mars 2024 (13.30-14.30 HAEC), Salle IV, Siège de l’Organisation à Paris.
L'événement sera ouvert par Mme Monique van Daalen, Ambassadrice/Déléguée Permanente du Royaume des Pays-Bas, et Mme Gabriela Ramos, Sous-Directrice générale pour les sciences sociales et humaines de l'UNESCO, accompagnées de messages vidéo des ministres soutenant l’initiative. Un groupe d’Ambassadeurs/Délégué(e)s Permanent(e)s présentera ensuite un appel à l'action sur la liberté et la sécurité des scientifiques et partagera les principales préoccupations, besoins et priorités de leurs pays respectifs. L'événement sera également l’occasion de présenter les principales conclusions d’une publication à venir, intitulée La sécurité des chercheurs scientifiques: Données, tendances et typologie des menaces.
L’interprétation simultanée sera assurée en anglais et en français. L'événement peut également être suivi en ligne.

La UNESCO y el Reino de los Países Bajos le invitan cordialmente a participar en el evento de presentación de su nuevo Programa sobre la promoción de la libertad científica y la seguridad de los científicos el 19 de marzo de 2024 (13.30-14.30 CET, hora de Europa Central) en la Sala IV de su Sede en París.
El evento será inaugurado por la Sra. Monique van Daalen, Embajadora/Delegada Permanente del Reino de los Países Bajos, y la Sra. Gabriela Ramos, Subdirectora General de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas de la UNESCO, quien estarán acompañadas por mensajes de vídeo de Ministros que apoyan la iniciativa. A continuación, un grupo de Embajadores/Delegados Permanentes presentarán un llamado a la acción para la libertad y la seguridad de los científicos y destacarán sus preocupaciones, necesidades y prioridades de sus respectivos países. En el evento también se presentarán las conclusiones de la próxima publicación titulada La seguridad de los investigadores científicos: Datos, tendencias y tipología de las amenazas.
