To facilitate the implementation of the new Phase II telemedicine solutions, it is expected that one FTS and one medical focal point from each of the three pilot missions (MINUSCA, MONUSCO, UNMISS) and two to three (TBC) technical focal points from UNGSC will attend the training.

The objective of the training is to provide UN stakeholders information about new technological solutions for telemedicine (software, hardware, deployment model) including knowledge and skills on the use and maintenance of a ruggedized portable telemedicine kit, associated software, medical devices, satellite terminals and supporting standard operating procedures for operationalizing telemedicine services. It is expected that the participants will, upon completion of the course, be well equipped to train medical users (civilian and military) and FTS technicians upon return to their respective field missions. This course will also contribute to the capacity building of the UNGSC and mission personnel to train new telemedicine users during subsequent troop rotations in the pilot locations.

The training will be jointly delivered by a trainer(s) from the UN-contracted vendor supplying the technology solution - Black Space Technology, UK, and the OICT/DHMOSH UNHQ Telemedicine Project management team. The training will be conducted in English.
