Background

In its resolution 77/245, the UN General Assembly reaffirmed its call for the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) to be convened in 2024.
 
Hosted by Antigua and Barbuda, SIDS4 will take place on 27-30 May 2024 under the theme “Charting the Course Toward Resilient Prosperity”. The Conference will agree a bold new Programme of Action for SIDS, with concrete, measurable, targets to support SIDS to achieve their sustainable development objectives over the next ten years. The outcome will build on the SAMOA Pathway (2014)Mauritius Strategy (2004); and Barbados Programme of Action (1994).

As per paragraph 38 of A/RES/77/245 and A/CONF.223/2024/PC/L.1, the non-governmental organizations and major groups identified in Agenda 21 and other stakeholders in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, as well as those that were accredited to previous United Nations conferences on the sustainable development of small island developing States, held in Barbados, Mauritius and Samoa, should register in order to participate.

Representatives of organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) can now register to attend the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) 27-30 May 2024.

  • Non-governmental organizations, major groups and other relevant stakeholders will be allowed to request registration for up to 10 delegates each. 
  • Submitting registration doesn't guarantee your in-person participation. If your registration is approved, you will receive an approval letter confirming your in-person participation.
