The first meeting of the Board of the Fund for responding to loss and damage will be held from 30 April - 2 May 2024 at Abu Dhabi Energy Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The COP and CMA through decisions 1/CP.28 and 5/CMA.5 paragraph 10 requested the UNFCCC secretariat to initiate arrangements for convening the first meeting of the Board of the Fund once all voting member nominations have been submitted.
Registration is now open for interested Parties and observer States to the Convention and the Paris Agreement, United Nations Secretariat units and bodies, specialized agencies and related organizations and intergovernmental organizations admitted as observers by the Conference of the Parties, and constituencies of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) admitted as observers by the Conference of the Parties to attend the meeting of the Board as observers.
Observers attendees to the first meeting of the Board are responsible for arrangements relating to their participation and related costs, including flights and accommodations. To facilitate participant travel to Abu Dhabi, the government of United Arab Emirates will communicate an Information Note to registered participants to provide travel and accommodation information and other details once registration is confirmed.
