Marking the International Day for Countering Hate Speech
The Croatian Agency for Electronic Media (AEM) in cooperation with UNESCO, organizes the International Conference on digital platform governance: Building a Global Forum of Networks on International Day for Countering Hate Speech in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 18 to 19 June 2024.
The commemoration of the International Day for Countering Hate Speech is an occasion to mobilize international networks of audiovisual, electronic media and online regulators in countering the exponential spread and proliferation of hate speech, discrimination and xenophobia online while growing their efforts to address this phenomenon, in line with international human rights law.
This hybrid commemoration will also be the opportunity to acknowledge the crucial role played by international networks of audiovisual, electronic media and online regulators in safeguarding human rights online and to promote digital platforms governance’s multi-stakeholder approach and human rights respecting approach.
The second day (19 June) of the conference will be dedicated to substantive discussions between the participants and to defining the way forward for the building of the Global Forum of Networks.

Commémoration de la Journée internationale de lutte contre les discours de haine
L'Agence croate des médias électroniques (AEM), en coopération avec l'UNESCO, organise la Conférence internationale sur la gouvernance des plateformes numériques : Construire un Forum mondial de réseaux lors de la Journée internationale de lutte contre les discours de haine à Dubrovnik, Croatie, du 18 au 19 juin 2024.
La commémoration de la Journée internationale de lutte contre les discours de haine est l'occasion de mobiliser les réseaux internationaux de régulateurs de médias audiovisuels et électroniques et en ligne pour lutter contre la propagation et la prolifération exponentielles des discours de haine, de la discrimination et de la xénophobie en ligne, tout en renforçant leurs efforts pour lutter contre ce phénomène, conformément au droit international des droits humains.
Cette commémoration hybride sera également l'occasion de reconnaître le rôle crucial joué par les réseaux internationaux de régulateurs de l'audiovisuel, des médias électroniques et de l'Internet dans la protection des droits humains en ligne et de promouvoir une approche multipartite et respectueuse des droits humains de la gouvernance des plateformes numériques.
Le deuxième jour (19 juin) de la conférence sera consacré à des discussions de fond entre les participants et à la définition de la voie à suivre pour la mise en place du Forum mondial de réseaux.
