Join us for a vital discussion on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Food security and nutrition are pivotal to SDG2 – Zero Hunger, and are intertwined with other SDGs, including poverty eradication, health, responsible consumption, and life on land and water.

SIDS face daunting challenges particularly structural and environmental vulnerabilities compounded by unhealthy diets and food insecurity, leading to high rates of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and obesity. With climate change exacerbating these issues, urgent action is imperative.

This event is part of the SIDS Solutions Dialogue series by FAO Liaison Offices in Brussels, Geneva, and New York, together with the FAO office of SIDS, LDCs and LLDCs and the FAO Nutrition Dialogue Series by FAO Geneva and the FAO's Food and Nutrition Division. It's a crucial step towards the 4th UN SIDS Conference in May 2024, in Antigua and Barbuda.
