The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction - Regional Office for Arab States (UNDRR ROAS) are pleased to inform you that we are organizing the Nineth Arab Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Meeting from 21 to 23 November 2023 in the Arab Republic of Egypt.


The Nineth Arab Partnership for DRR Meeting will bring together the National Sendai Framework Focal Points, representatives of the meteorological entities and local governments, members of the Arab stakeholder groups for DRR, representatives of regional UN and international organizations and the League of Arab States.

This meeting will mark the first technical deliberations in the region in preparation for the Sixth Arab Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction which is being hosted by the Government of Kuwait in October 2024. It will provide a forum to brief partners on proceedings and outcomes of key regional events in 2023 with focus on the COP-28, the Arab-Africa Science and Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction Conference, and MCR2030 International Resilience Hubs Forum. It will also focus on examining the outcomes of the Midterm Review of Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and discussing ways to reflect them in the outcome documents of the upcoming regional platform.
