The SMART Digital Health Transformation Symposium aims to strengthen the capacity on standards and SMART Guidelines in national ecosystems in the Africa region. It will focus on equipping government and technologists with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for using interoperability standards (e.g. HL7 FHIR ®) within the ecosystem of WHO recommended resources, including SMART Guidelines. The meeting will bring together software developers, informatics experts, national programme planners, software and technical leads for digital health nominated by the relevant national Ministry, development and technical partners from within the region and beyond as well as representatives from WHO, The Global Fund, and HELINA. The SMART Digital Health Transformation Symposium will be a pre-meeting for the HELINA Conference taking place at the same venue in Cape Town from 1-3 November 2023. It will also draw lessons and experiences from the Interoperability Hackathon in Kigali, Rwanda 23-27 October 2023.
