This meeting aims to share update on current developments on the establishment of the AER Working Group. Following the adoption of the Modalities of Operations for the ASEAN Environmental Rights Working Group by AICHR on 21 November 2022, and the Ad Hoc Preparatory Session of ASEAN Environmental Rights Framework and Interim AER Working Group Meeting on 22-23 November 2022, the TOR of the AER Working Group was discussed and adopted at the 36th Meeting of AICHR held from 28 February to 3 March 2023. According to the Modalities of Operations and the TOR, the Composition of the AER Working Group has been consolidated based on the nominations by the relevant ASEAN Sectoral Bodies and Entities as well as independent professional experts.
