Dear colleagues and experts,

In the elaboration of the “Report of the UN Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent reviewing the 20 years of work since its establishment and how to address more efficiently the human rights concerns of people of African descent”, the Working Group has issued a number of calls for input and we thank those organizations and individual who have submitted their contributions.

For those that have not had the opportunity yet, and those of you that want to further elaborate on your submissions, we would like to invite you to an online consultation with civil society and national human rights institutions on Monday, 10 July 2023 from 14h00 to 16h00 (CET).

We look forward to hearing from you the experiences at local, national, regional and international level of the impact of the work of the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent:

  • Have the recommendations of a thematic or country visit report of the WGEPAD had a direct link with the advancement of your project? Of specific legislation in your city, country?
  • Have the recommendations been helpful to advance a discussion at local or national level?
  • Have you seen improvement in the situation of people of African descent following a visit of the WGEPAD?
  • Do you have concrete recommendations for the future work of the WGEPAD?
