Sustainable Energy   Committee on Sustainable Energy   Group of Experts on Renewable Energy 

This year’s UNECE Sustainable Energy Week features several in-person events, including the: 

  • 10th session of the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy (11-12 September) 

  • 32nd session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy (13-15 September) 

The Sustainable Energy Week will focus on Resilient Energy Systems, Low and Zero Carbon Technology Interplay, Follow-up and review of SDG7. It will include specific discussions, exchange of experiences, recommendations and presentations on country policies and actions that build future resilient energy systems of the future in the UNECE region, taking into account how to manage critical raw materials, developing regional connected energy infrastructure, accelerating energy efficiency and digitalization, scaling up-renewable energy uptake considering low- and zero carbon technologies interplay. 

Join us in person at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Simultaneous interpretation in English, French and Russian will be provided. Registration is mandatory for all participants for all two events at the links listed below.

10th session of the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy (GERE-10) 

11-12 September 2023, 10.00-13.00 & 15.00-18.00 

The Annual Meeting will feature a series of sessions on: 

  • Tracking progress in the uptake of renewable energy; 

  • SDG7 Review and Follow-up to substantially increase the share of renewable energy; 

  • Exchange of experiences on how to increase the uptake of renewable energy; 

  • Cross-cutting and intersectoral cooperation to develop renewable energy and consider low and zero carbon technologies interplay.

32nd session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy (CSE-32) 

13-15 September 2023, 10.00-13.00 & 15.00-18.00 

The Annual Meeting will feature panels and discussions on: 

  • Applying UNFC and UNRMS to manage Critical Raw Materials; 

  • Assisting countries in building Resilient Energy Systems; 

  • Accelerating Energy Efficiency measures while embracing Digitalization; 

  • Launch of the UNECE Platform on Resilient Energy Systems; 

  • Identifying new areas of work, projects, and key messages for global processes
