Day of General Discussion on General Comment on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and Sustainable Development

24 February 2023 from 10:00 – 13:00 and 15:00-18:00 Central European Time.

The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) is currently in the process of developing a General Comment on economic, social and cultural rights and sustainable development. In that regard, a Day of General Discussion with select experts and mandate holders will take place during the CESCR’s 73rd session (13 February to 03 March 2023) on 24 February 2023 from 10:00 -13:00 and 15:00-18:00.

Relevant experts will participate in panels throughout the day with slots allocated for non-panellist participants to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

Practical information

The format of the Discussion Day is hybrid, so participation can be in online or in-person. Prior registration through Indico is mandatory for both types of participation.

  • Request for online registration: Participants will a link to join the meeting in ZOOM platform with a guideline. Please note this link may be sent only a few days prior to the Discussion Day.
  • Request for in-person registration: When accreditation has been  validated, an email with a QR code will be sent to collect the entry badge.

Translation  

The Discussion Day will  have  translation from 10.00-12.00 and from 15.00-17.00 in all six official United Nations languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).

There is no translation from 12.00-13.00 and 17.00-18.00
