The IHR Review Committee regarding amendments to International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) is convened pursuant to Articles 50.1.(a)2 and 47 of the IHR, as well as Decision WHA75(9).

The purpose of this Review Committee is to provide technical recommendations to the Director-General on amendments proposed by State Parties to the IHR, as decided by the Health Assembly in Decision WHA75(9).

The Review Committee has been convened and held its first virtual preparatory meeting on Thursday 6 October. The second meeting will be in-person and will take place from 24 to 28 October 2022 at the Organization’s headquarters in Geneva.

States Parties are invited to designate a representative to attend a dedicated session taking place on Thursday 27 October from 9:30 to 12:30 at WHO headquarters in Geneva. During that session, States Parties that proposed IHR Amendments will be invited to provide the rationale for their proposed amendments and respond to Committee Members requests for clarifications.
